Biography —
Tommy Lomeli is a Kustom ceramic artist born in Stockton, California in 1993. He received his AA degree in art at Sacramento City College. He holds a BA in Studio art from California State University, Sacramento and is currently completing his MFA in visual art at the University of Kansas. His mixed media work engages themes of identity as a Chicano artist and explores connections within family practices of labor. He uses the vessel as a narrative tool to communicate cultural histories through the lens of lowrider aesthetics.
