Biography

Capturing the way lighting can illuminate the history of the image is something that I find myself consistently intrigued by.  The endless options to sway the narrative through lighting has become a compulsion.  I can’t help but use lighting as a secondary character.  The interest of the light sometimes overtakes the work, becoming the main character.  In my newest works the light becomes the antagonist, showing what natural sun light can do to our skin. The irony of showing the damage, with what caused it, is something I would like to explore more. The infinite ways to depicting light and darkness is the core of what goes into creating any visual piece of art.  Examining new ways of illustrating and dramatizing light is something I hope to continue in future works.
