Dora Agbas

I investigate my environment by experimenting with material presenting themselves in the place I inhabit. I am mainly drawn to plant materials, their fibers, fallen leaves and leaf stalks, seed and pods. Part of my practice is walking with awareness and collecting.

Beyond that, touch, using my own hands to manipulate these materials is very important to me. Touch allows me to understand how different qualities can work together and how they can be transformed.

As my primary interest is in fiber, I investigate line and its reconfiguration into form.

My process based art is a creative play fueled by my curiosity and guided by my life experience and my reverence for nature
