Christina Foster

I’ve always considered myself multifaceted, with my interests spanning art, dance, theatre, fashion, and really anything involved in some type of creative process.  From undergraduate studies in Studio Art and Theatre & Dance to artistic ventures thereafter, I have cultivated a multidisciplinary practice that integrates just about any process I can get my hands on. My work often draws from my own experience as being both Potawatomi and White, using a mixture of Indigenous storytelling and ritual with the westernized cultural experiences and institutions that I grew up within. Ideas are then reimagined through expanded media forms such as immersive installations and performative environments. These projects have taught me that art can be both a vessel for cultural continuity and a catalyst for dialogue across communities.
