Biography

Annaliese Allen, born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, grew up in a multicultural home and spent the first decade of her life living in three states and five countries. The extensive travels she experienced developed a deep-rooted love of culture, food, and art, and although the beautiful foothills of Colorado Springs, Colorado have long since been home, Annaliese seeks to explore the vast world we live in. Annaliese graduated from Pikes Peak State College in 2017 with a double AA in Studio Art and Art History, and in December of 2024 she graduated with a BA in Visual and Performing Art with a Visual Art Tract at the University of Colorado Springs before starting the MFA program at the University of Kansas in the fall of 2025.

Annaliese’s sculptural work touches on the beauty and diversity found in community, while utilizing her community for the collection of materials. The symbolic nature of the materials she chooses leads her to explore themes of transcendence, diversity, and redemption. Creating a connection between the ancient past and the living present, Annaliese invites both the maker and viewer to slow down and engage in silent reflection, drawing attention to the beauty and diversity of shared human experiences.
