Visual Art Scholarship Award Application Form
Online Application Deadline: Friday, March 26th, 2021
Each year the Department of Visual Art awards scholarships to continuing students majoring in visual art. This is an important opportunity for students to exhibit their work and possibly earn a scholarship. Participating students are required to submit a body of work for the jurying process. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic, this years Scholarship show will be an online exhibition. Selected artwork will be exhibited on the Art Department’s website.
Participating students will submit up to 10 images (including 2 detail shots if necessary) via SlideRoom. A committee of seven faculty members, one from each studio area, will jury the student work displayed in the exhibition and award scholarships for 2021-22. Some work will be selected to be included in the online Scholarship show at the end of April. All eligible Visual Art students are encouraged to participate. There will be a mandatory Zoom meeting for participating students on Monday, March 22nd at 5:30 pm. During this meeting we will discuss how to submit images via SlideRoom, how to properly photograph your work, and general Q&A. If you can’t attend the meeting email Michael McCaffrey, email@example.com
The online exhibition is open to the public, and students are encouraged to invite friends and family to view the exhibition.
Eligibility requirements for scholarship consideration:
Official major in the Department of Visual Art
Continued, full-time enrollment as a Visual Art major for 2021-22*
3.0 overall GPA**
*If fewer than 12 credit hours are needed to meet graduation requirements, less than full-time enrollment is possible with department approval.
**Exceptions are sometimes made to the GPA requirement. Applicants can provide a written appeal and rationale on the online form.
