Professor Mary Anne Jordan - Collaborative Project to Test Natural Dyes and Processes

Experiments with natural dyes and dyeing processes.  Collaborators: Kim Eichler-Messmer, Associate Professor, Kansas City Art Institute; Amy Higgin-Stambaugh, University of Missouri-Columbia. The three of us worked together for an intensive dye testing project in the textile studios in the Department of Visual Art.  We immersion dyed, screen-printed, and painted cellulose fibers/fabrics with Indigo, Pommegranate, Cochineal, Lac, Weld, Rhubarb, Madder, Marigold.  The test results will inform individual research and teaching.
