Summary

Alexander is currently an Assistant Professor of Ceramics and Art Education at South Carolina State University. Born in St. Louis, MO, Alexander attended Truman State University in Kirksville, MO, where he earned a BA in Painting, BFA in Ceramics, and an MA in Visual Art Education. After graduation, he taught high school in Washington State. Alexander left high school teaching to attend the University of Kansas where he received an MFA in 2017.  

Alexander's work has been shown all over the United States. So far in 2019, he has had his work displayed with the Palmetto Curatorial Exchange at the South Carolina Educational Studio and the Jones-Carter Gallery in South Carolina, the Truman State University Art Gallery in Missouri, and at the Whitefield Center in Savannah, GA. He has received assistantships to attend craft schools in Colorado, New Jersey, and Tennessee. In November 2018, he was selected as a finalist for the 701 Center for Contemporary Art Prize.
